The Idea

The player will run through a dungeon filled with obstacles and monsters that are intended to slow down the player or even possibly kill them. (Horizontal running, meaning they're trying to get as far right, as fast as they can.) As the levels go on there's more and more level mechanics such as ice that you can slide on, monsters that make it harder to traverse/not die, and monsters that sole goal is to slow you down. Such as one where you can't be running on the floor when it comes.

Hub

An area the player is transported to between runs, where they can interact with vendors to purchase uprages (in the form of implants), customize those upgrades, and purchase/change weapons or weapon aspects. Another aspect of the hub would be a mission select, flavored as the player accepting contracts from underground gamekeepers. Additionally the player might be able to accept side quests, and do special dungeons that have larger prizes. As you progress you can interact with more side charecters to learn the lore of the world and maybe aquire side quests.

Builds

Characters

Each character (Starting with one main-character, and the rest being DLC expansions) has their own weapon, lore, and character design.

Upgrades

In the hub, there are 3 merchants, one for movement upgrades, weapon specific upgrades, and a temporary buff shop. Aswell as a place to get contracts/unlock levels.

Lore

Delta corperation, a large corperation lead by a man named Jericho, established a city in the artic for the porpose of fracking, and paid its citizens a stepiend to cover the cost of living, for both the company needed workers, and to cover the cost of living. Living costs were high becuse the city reserved the right to annex blocks and destroy the infrastructure for the porpose of fracking. when a block was destroyed, a new block was developed, with houses and such. Therefore the city slowly crawled around, and left a trail of wreckage in its wake. Eventually, Delta City (the name of the city Delta Corp developed) became unsustainable, and Delta Corp pulled all their assets out. However, a lot of people couldnt afford the sudden cost of transit, and so they were forced to stay. As time progressed, the wild began to reclaim the city. Hoarfrost accumulated on the top of the buildings, and slowly it grew and formed a ceiling of ice over Delta City. This was good for the inhabitants of Delta, because it created insulation against the elements.

Eventaully, Delta Corp moved from mining to computing and more technology focused work. They eventually came back to the arctic, with the intent of creating an AI to mass produce art with. They hired a group of people to pretend to be artisans and live in the city, and thehy began to use the AI (called The Crucible) to flood the market with art.

It became clear that having too many implants in ones body allowed The Crucible to commune with you, and many people who had this occur described a music that grew ever louder with the more modifacation they underwent. this created a cult of sorts in the underfrost (name of Delta City), driven by the supposed divinity of the machine. those who worshiped it called it the Angelic Intelegence, wheras those who shunned it called it the Abombidable Intelegence.    ugh a dungeon filled with obstacles and monsters that are intended to slow down the player or even possibly kill them. Builds

A build is defined as the result of a path of upgrades chosen by the player. As the player continues throught the levels they can upgrade their build using the 3 merchants to make a build that works smoothly and helps the player grapple through levels in whichever way the player wants to use the upgrades to make the game easier/take on new challneges, however the game shouldn't ever propose a upgrade that you have to get in order to be able to finish the game.
